Sackville TimeBank Orientation

     We welcome any interested people to an in-person Orientation to TimeBanking in New Brunswick. Come meet other local people interested in developing an alternative economy based on “time credits”, and engage in a Q&A with our new TimeBank NB membership coordinator, Darlene! We will cover topics like the fundamentals of the TimeBank system, as well as find out how to use the software that is at the core of posting ads and tracking “time credits”. Let’s get inspired to be part of creating our TimeBank New Brunswick!

It will take place at the Sackville Commons from 6:30-8PM on July 26th.

****Please bring a laptop or tablet so you can experience the software yourself. The Internet will be available. (Data phones are possible as an alternative, however, laptops or tablets are preferred)

For individuals to share and bank time, for organizations to compensate volunteers or get people to donate hours to their organization. $5 annual membership for TimeBank for administration, but after that, there is no money exchanged, this is for future years not this year. you have to attend an orientation to become a member.

Workshop Coordinator
We are looking for an experienced Workshop Coordinator to organize excellent workshops. You will be responsible for every aspect of workshops, from choosing venues to evaluating success afterwards. The Workshop Coordinator must be well-organized and competent in event management. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. Add a shot of enthusiasm and passion for the job and you’ll be our ideal candidate. The purpose of this position is to organize unforgettable workshops that will ensure the engagement of participants and facilitate the path to more sustainable, connected, communities.


Certification Coordinator

We are looking for a competent Program Coordinator to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. You will help in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties. To be an excellent program coordinator, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams. If you have further skills in program development and human resources support, we’d like to meet you. The purpose of this position is to coordinate the delivery of Canada’s first Master Food Preserver Certification. Ensuring the effective engagement of participants to facilitate the path to more sustainable, connected, communities through skills in food preservation.


Social Media Manager
We are looking for an innovative Social Media Manager to administer our social media accounts. You will be responsible for utilizing templates as well as creating original text and video content, managing posts and responding to inquiries. You will manage our company image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals. As a Social media manager, we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement. As well as managing and promoting our Community Mirror platform to facilitate the path to more sustainable, connected, communities through engagement.


Food Access Coordinator

The Food Access Coordinator must be well versed in event management. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. Working with a variety of community partners and producers, you will evaluate existing resources and coordinate effective distribution of local food via farmers markets, mobile markets and rural hubs. If you are creative, organized and passionate about community, this job is for you! The purpose of this position is to improve the access of local food to local communities by coordinating effective and efficient distribution and engagement opportunities helping to develop more sustainable, connected, communities.

Green Internship Job Description

Office is available Petitcodiac, however location is flexible and work from home may be accommodated. Some travel may be required. Full-time, flexible schedule may include evenings and weekends.

Starting as soon as possible till March 31, 2017 with possibility of extension.
Job Purpose

This internship position is intended to provide support to various Green Eye Coop projects impacting community, environment and food security. This position will require and a love of learning and passion for making a difference.

Applicants MUST meet the following criteria to be eligible:

  • Post-secondary graduates; and
  • 30 years or younger when they started the internship
  • Must not have participated in any other Youth Employment Strategy programs
  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with delivery and development of a variety projects
  • Assisting in grants and reports
  • Motivate community engagement
  • Demonstrate leadership
  • Be ready to learn a diverse variety of skills
  • Coordinate/Facilitate workshops and fund raisers

Community Call-Out!

Green Eye is looking to launch a slew of new initiatives to connect our communities! Two of these, our Community Mirror and our Video Workshops will be launching soon, but we need your help! We are asking for used iPads, tablets, iPods etc and any touch screen devices particularly with cameras to be donated to our tool library – to be used by the community and for the community.
 The Community Mirror project is seeking devices to display a community calendar and lots of other information in strategic areas. To accomplish this we need functioning screens with Wifi capability.
Our Video Workshops will teach how to create your own marketing, event, or other type of video using basic tools – perfect for beginners, regular joes, and everyone in between! But to make this happen, we need enough equipment for our attendees to test, retest, and see how their projects work on different screens.

Meet our Canning Expert: Jen Hudson

Canning-FoodJen Hudson, owner of A Taste of Kent, has been canning since her teens, practicing a time old tradition passed on to her from her mother and grandmothers. Today she preserves for her own family and the community she lives in.   Jen is a marketer at the Upriver Country Market in Bass River, NB supplying stock for many a kitchen pantry in her region, and perhaps beyond.

Her 20 year background in broadcasting as a show host (XL 96) and a reporter/producer for CBC Moncton and News 91.9, as well as intructor at NBCC, and workshop teacher for Nourish Moi Nutrition (St. Ignace, NB), the health centre in Elsipogtog, NB and the Community Food Mentorship program in Richibucto, NB stands her in good stead to teach the art of canning. 

We welcome her to Green Eye Cooperative for a few workshops this upcoming fall season of 2015.  See our Workshop & Event  page for more details and registration to the workshops where we can learn a few of Jen’s secrets, tips and learned techniques to simplify the canning process.

Moncton Park Gardens

Raised bed
In partnership with the City of Moncton, and funded by Healthy and Inclusive Communities, Green Eye Coop is installing raised bed planters in several play parks in the city. These planters will serve as an activity that park staff can engage the neighborhood children in through the season. This project will also serve as a pilot to increase the number of community gardens and publicly accessible, local food, throughout the city of Moncton.
In the coming days, Green Eye Coop will be hosting hands-on community workshops. A variety of well-established plants will be planted at each of the following sites:

• Canadian Heights @ 35 Chelsea Rd.
• Lewis St. @ 78 Lewis St.
• Prince Edward Playground @35 Burlington Ave.
• Hamilton Heights @ 120 Evergreen Drive

• Creek Village Playground @ 40 Pleasant St.
